How people agree to get texts from us

1. Website contact form

On our contact page, below the phone field, there is a separate checkbox marked (Optional). It is unchecked by default. The form sends without it. This is a screenshot of the live form:

2. Website chat

When a visitor types a phone number in the chat window on our website, the same optional, unchecked checkbox with the same wording appears. We text only if it is checked. This is a screenshot of the live chat window:

3. Phone call (spoken yes)

When someone calls us, our phone assistant asks this question near the end of the call, word for word, and waits for the answer. We text only after a clear yes. If they say no or are not asked, we do not text.

“May I text you at this number from Charlotte County Properties Inc. about your real estate inquiry and appointments? Consent is voluntary and is not required to receive our services. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Each answer is saved with the date, time and call record.

4. Texting us first

A person can text us first at any of our four numbers: (941) 337-3391, (941) 655-9226, (941) 336-6038, (941) 206-3771. We reply only within that conversation. Our first reply to a new number always reads, word for word:

“Charlotte County Properties Inc.: Thanks for your text. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”

Then we answer the question. Texting STOP at any time ends all texts, and HELP gets our contact details.

5. Re-subscribing by keyword (START, UNSTOP or YES)

A person who texted STOP can turn texts back on by texting START, UNSTOP or YES to the same number. YES counts only from a number that has opted out; from anyone else it is an ordinary reply. These keywords do not sign up new numbers. The confirmation reads, word for word:

“Charlotte County Properties Inc.: You're subscribed to texts about your real estate inquiry & appointments. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
